From East Egg to West Egg and over the Queensboro Bridge to the glittering skyscrapered New York we’ll see the world created by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Itinerary*

Day 1

3 p.m. – Arrive at the hotel in Times Square by 3 p.m.

4 p.m.  – Start off our journey into the Jazz Age with a look at the Art Deco buildings of the Big Apple. 

6: 30 – Enjoy a special welcome dinner and meet your new book besties with a special activity. 

Sleep in or get in an early morning activity on your own.

11 a.m.  – We’ll put our pinkies up for Tea at the Plaza, a favorite haunt for the Fitzgeralds. 

1 p.m. – Walk down 5th Avenue and through the life of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald during their mad cap days in the city.

3:30 – Free time

6 p.m. – Prohibition made drinking extra scandalous. Tonight we’ll learn to make a cocktail at a local Speakeasy.

Enjoy the morning to explore NYC on your own. Maybe take a carriage ride in Central Park, Check out The Frick, or find a vintage store to shop in. 

1:30 p.m. – We’ll meet up between Patience and Fortitude the two lions who stand guard at the  NY Public Library for a tour of the grand building and some of it’s exhibits. 

5 p.m. – Enjoy a Pre-show dinner at Gatsby Landing where we’ll be joined by a special guest.

7:30 – Arrive at the on-the-nose-named Broadway Theatre for an 8 p.m. showing of The Great Gatsby. 

9 a.m. – We meet for a quick to go breakfast at the hotel.

10 a.m. – Board our bus to take us to Long Island to explore East and West Egg in comfort.

Noon – We arrive at Old Westbury Gardens to tour Westbury House one of many Gold Coast mansions cited as inspiration for Gatsby’s digs.

2 p.m. – All aboard as we take to Manhasset Bay to stradle the border between the Old Monied West Egg and the Nouveau Riche East Egg on the Gatsby Boat Tour. We’ll have a packed lunch to enjoy on the water.

5 p.m. On our way back to the city we’ll pass the home that F.Scott and Zelda made their home in 1923 and 1924. Then we’ll return to the city via the Queensboro Bridge.

7 p.m. – Back at the hotel dinner is your choice – room service, a deli, or four courses there’s lots of options.

One last day before we beat on. This morning we’ll pack up and store our luggage at the hotel. 

11 a.m. – We’ll take a tour of The Village where many a literary genius dwelled and drank. 

1 p.m. – We’ll conclude our trip with lunch and our Book Club at The White Horse Tavern, the second oldest continually operating bar in NYC.
